The Indoor Smart Garden is compact and fits in even the smallest of kitchens. Once your plants reach maturity you'll have fresh herbs available in your kitchen - meaning you don't have to go to the supermarket every time you run out of herbs, and you won't have to watch herbs die in your fridge! Just harvest fresh herbs when you need them!
Your indoor smart garden isn't a heavy guzzler, it's super water-efficient, only needing to be refilled every three weeks on average! And don't worry about forgetting to water it, your smart garden has a water level indicator that will beep for you when it's thirsty - meaning you won't find any limp plants that haven't been watered.
You can grow a wide variety of herbs and leafy greens with this smart garden, meaning you can ditch the limp leaves and plastic bags that you would otherwise buy from a supermarket (only to watch wilt in your fridge). We recommend herbs and leafy greens such as lettuce, basil, coriander, parsley, or dill to begin with.
The indoor smart garden utilises high-performance full spectrum 8 Watt LED grow lights with an automatic timer, and reading light. It comes with a power adapter for Australian outlets, and water level indicator that beeps and flashes when you need to re-water your plants.
Hydroponics generally refers to food that is grown in water and without soil, often featuring LED grow lights and hydroponic nutrients. The Hydroponic nutrients contain the optimal quantities of all of the minerals which are generally contained in soil such as those nutrients that plants consume in large quantities like nitrogen, potassium and phosphate, as well as those required in smaller quantities such as boron, magnesium and calcium.
The LED grow lights replicate the wavelengths of light that plants need to grow - which are primarily the red and blue spectrums. The result? Hydroponics grows food using 90% less water and 60% less space - often achieving better yields in the process. It provides the perfect environment for growing - better root aeration, consistent water supply, a powerful light supply and so on - all resulting in optimal plant growth.
The Indoor Smart Garden grows plants in a Hydroponic growing medium called smart soil instead of dirt. Smart Soil absorbs 3x its own weight in water, which it uniformly distributes throughout itself - allowing your plant to have consistent access to water, oxygen, and nutrients. The outcome of this is a mess-free solution that allows your kitchen to stay clean while your plants grow!
You can grow most small plants in this unit. When using nutrients, you will need to mix and dissolve 2 grams of nutrients (or one level scoop of our nutrient spoon which comes with the set) every time you refill water after the plants have germinated. This is usually once a month in the beginning, but over time can shorten to up to an average of once every 2 weeks (depending on the type of plant/temperature). The product contains a small plastic float inside the basin which rises and falls with the water level. When the water level is at its lowest point, the float causes the light to beep.
After refilling, this float may get jammed in the bottom of the tube - causing the product to beep even when the water level is full.To fix this, simply dislodge the float so that it may rise to the water level.
Smart Gardens use a high-efficiency LED strip, which has an 8 Watt power demand. In contrast, a normal light bulb uses 60-100 Watts of electricity. This means our product uses just 8-13% of the electricity a conventional bulb does!

AustraliaSuper easy to setup and our basil is coming along very nicely so far. We’re looking forward to being able to harvest it to make some pesto! Only complaint about the indoor smart garden combo so far is the light doesn’t extend far enough towards the base of the stand, so one pot doesn’t get as much light and hasn’t grown as fast. We’ve swapped the pots to compensate for this, but it would be nice if the light was even.
