This product comes with everything you need to start growing: 12x Rockwool cubes, 12x netcups, two seed satchets of your choice, and a bottle of Hydroponic Growth Nutrients.

The EcoKitchen's roots float directly in the water that they grow in, this results in high water efficiency - reducing the amount of maintenance that the system needs! Refill on average once every 2-3 weeks.

The lights themselves replicate the wavelength of light that plants need to grow. This wavelength is usually a small band of blue light between 400 and 500 nm, and red light between 600 and 700 nm which when combined result in a purple glow. The white light LED diodes in this product emit a lot of blue light, and the red lights provide the red light. When combined it provides all the light that most plants need to grow! There are 17 essential elements requried for plant growth. Three of these are carbon, hydrogren and oxygen (which the plant gets from water and air), the rest are macronutrients (Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphate) and Micronutrients (Calcium, magnesium, sulfur, boron, chlorine, iron, manganese, zinc, copper, molybdenum, and nickel). Most fertilisers only have the three macronutrients at best. In comparison our Hydroponic nutrients contain 14 essential elements required for plant growth! All you need to do to use it is mix it in with water and watch as your plant grows! You can find way more detail on how hydroponic nutrients work in our faq.
The plant is held in rockwool - which is the product of a molten rock that has been heated and spun like fairy floss. Rockwool provides uniform oxygenation for a plant's roots, as well as a stable medium for the plant to be secured by. Germinating seeds in rockwool has a 90% success rate if you make sure to wet the seeds! Once the roots grow out of the rockwool, they simply float in our hydroponic nutrient water and grow. providing you with soil-free growing that makes this product perfect for your kitchen! This Terragarden has 12 rockwool growing pods! So you can grow a variety of your favourite herbs and leafy greens such as lettuce, basil, coriander, parsley, rocket and more! All you need to get started are seeds and nutrients of your choice!
We’ll be honest, not a lot of effort is required to maintain your EcoKitchen. Since our Farm is hydroponic, it is uses 90% less water (yay environment) than soil grown plants – meaning you don’t have to spend as much time watering your plants!
The EcoKitchen cuts down watering from a daily chore to something you’d only need to do fortnightly at the worst!
Once your plants have thrived and grown to maturity – they will most likely reach the end of their lives. This is normal and you shouldn’t feel bad, “annuals” are meant to provide just one crop! To replant and get going again all you need to do is empty the water from the basin, pull out the old rockwool cubes, and replace them with new ones – then you can just plant some new seeds and you’re good to go!
The EcoKitchen pump helps circulate the water in your system, dispersing the nutrients, and aerating the water. If your plant's roots do not get enough oxygen, they’ll start to become less permeable, which reduces their ability to absorb both water and nutrients properly. This lack of permeability can also cause the plant to build up toxins internally. Water circulation and aeration is important as the roots of your plants are using that water for hydration as well as the source of their nutrients, so if something goes wrong they are missing two of their key growth requirements - inhibiting them from reaching their full potential!

Absolutely love this set! Seedlings have already bloomed and look nice and healthy. Love the grow light that is attached as it has its own timer so you don’t have to worry about it! Going to buy another one to have more herbs available to use! In our kitchen! :)

Great product, nice design and quiet when the pump is running. My partner loves growing her strawberrys and basil so much that we bought another model and are planning to save for the family farm version. Support people are so lovely and easy to deal with.

We had our grow kit, arm lights and other things arrive. The bamboo frame had some strange damage, but their staff were immediately responsive and helpful, we got a postage return slip RMA from them to send back the damaged one and they sent a replacement :) Tamara was amazing to communicate with, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. I’ll happily purchase from them again
